This is the first deer I harvested all by myself. Taken with my stepfathers 44 lever action. I was really proud of it. He is a true master hunter. He took more than 40 deer with that old rifle. When he gets to weak to fight me off I'm gonna take it from him:D

He actually gave it to me about 5 years ago, but I gave it back to him. He told me he was not going to hunt anymore because he was to old to stalk. I gave it back to him and he went hunting with my cousin and killed a 4 point the same year:D:D:D:D:D

I used to pretend I was John Wayne with that old rifle and shoot oil cans as fast as I could. It was so much fun shooting it. It was so loud and loading was so fast and easy. It is still deadly accurate; same old 4x scope is almost silver now and never been adjusted since it was put on.

That is a nice deer and i like the story as well. Looks to be a Marlin rifle, and i do love those lever actions too. I own a 336c chambered in .35 remington. I really like the hornady 200 grain balistic bullets, they are pretty nasty and accurate, more so than the core loc sp"s. I have taken several deer with mine, and a fox or two, and one bob cat.  I have a 3x9x40 simmons scope on mine.
