I recently got a copy of the dvd "muellers monsters" and was wondering if any of you had seen it?
I was wodering about some of the hogs killed in the dvd and had concerns about one in particular that seemed to have ears marked by ID punches, is this DVD legit?
Not throwing any mud but would value your input if you have seen it.
We have a number of "Wild Boar hunts," in the U.S. that are no more than tame wild boar that are taken for $. I will not allow any of those businesses on my website. There are several businesses in Louisiana that have popped up that advertise wild boar hunting. When you get there it is no more than a 20 acre farm with a high fence that you can walk around in and shoot which ever hog you would like. They do make money and there are people that will pose with them. I cannot say that I have watched the DVD that you have, because I have not. All I have to do is see the cover the cover photo and will not watch it. I have been researching and managing wild boar for years. I can tell you just about anything you would want to know about them. I have even lied down in the same wallow with them as I took their picture. I have released more wild boar than most have trapped and even treated them with antibiotics before release. I absolutely love them. I respect them for what they are and understand them. I am the only one that I know of that can mouth sound there vocals. I do not know of any other animal that has more vocals than the wild boar!
You probably know what I am talking about. You are going to spear one this weekend and know the death call. The loud guttural moan of the warning call is intense; it will raise the hair on the back of your neck. It is so deep and unlike a "Hog Sound."
I have an extensive background in anatomy. I am a fulltime paramedic training officer for more than 200 paramedics. I can tell you that "hogs" have a very similar anatomy than we have! They are very smart! They have also contributed to about 200 medicines that we use today! The marks on thier ears are for identification. They have been marked by the owner!
I figured it was something along those lines, we have a ton of hogs down here and I have never seen anything approach the size of some of these "wild boar" in the dvd, in the mountains is where we get our big boys and they rarely go over 100kg, a real big one may go 150-160kg but is a rare beast.
I know some of the pigs in the dvd were the real deal but some looked VERY tame.
