| It's not the best picture. We'll see what ya'll can do with it. There will be no hints for right now. Just measurements 54" length,each fork is 19" and it's 18" across the fork. Attached Image (viewed 93 times):

Hey Bruce, around here, they call it a devining rod. I thought they were always made out of a willow branch though. I have seen 2 gas welding rods , bent at 90 deg angles, used to find large underground water lines, but never seen devining rods work. Anyway, I don't think this is a devining rod.

Looks like a giant sling shot for one of those tall NBA players. But it could be a leaf rake.

I left my ditital camera in the camper, which is in the mountains. I'm going to try and describe the missing part.
There is a string that is tied in a loop. Both of the forks have a notch cut in them. The string is placed in the notches and in a metal clip that is located at the base of the Y. There would be a paper tied in the string between the two forks.
