| We had some very good guesses, Most of the old folks that have seen it , told me it was a trot line reel? One old gentleman told me it was a surveyors reel. I have to lean to it being a trot line reel. If anyone has ever put out a trot line it is very handy to wind it up on something. I used to use chunks of Styrofoam.

Don't get me wrong. I think you made a good choice. I think I offered anything you you wanted from the website if you didn't want the skunk essence. Just wanted everyone to know what you got and made a joke about the postman having to carry it if it busted in the box. I bought it to use for coyote, but just lost my lease and don't know where I'm going now.
What are you going to use for?

| I've been out of touch for a couple of days but i think that reel was actually from the military and was used for detonation wire and cord.

That could have been the case. Military surplus was used for everything, when I was a kid. Prior to the 1968 Gun Control laws, you could go in a G I Surplus and buy Enfields and Mausers for $19.95, out of a barrel.

You could be right I was always told that it was used on trot lines but who knows?
