Yep! They have to be right in thier face before it goes off! Winter time makes a big difference. Although it don't get very cold down here; I did have a few days this winter that they would not work because they were to cold. I brought them to the truck and after they warmed up, they worked again. I guess in Maine and Wyoming they would just break:shock: For the most part they work fine for me; I like the close ups and they crop really good if you have the 3.1 mega pix. or higher.

I have had a number of cameras. Right now, my favorite is the Stealth 2.0 migapixal, that uses a SD card and a 12 volt external battery or 6 C cells. I always use the 12 volt external battery, just set it on the ground next to tree. One thing though, DO NOT get the stealth camera unless it has the VIEWING screen. They also make the same camera with an LCD screen, which believe it or not, has a completely different program, and is a world class pain to program. The model with the color viewing screen is about $50 more and could not be easier to use. A friend has the I-40 Moultrie and he swears by them. Bad reports on the D-40. For all the scoop, go to chasingame.com

I had one stolen off my lease last year; they tried to get the hog trap too, but it was anchored down good. My guess is that they tried to steal the trap, but couldn't get it very fast, noticed the camera and knew they were busted, so they took it. :broke

Check out ebay before you buy from a store, but beware of the ones that are not name brand, buy from someone that has a great feedback score. I sell on ebay and can tell you that it can make a real difference. You have the option of slamming someone on ebay, but no where else. I often put up bids for my products at .99 cents just to create interest in them. I have got a lot of trail cams from ebay that work just fine. Right now, I don't have a place to put them out:rotfl

I had a Moultrie I-40 stolen a couple weeks ago on our lease. From the looks of the sign a couple of fellas on foot with a couple of dogs ended up in front of the camera and got flashed. I spread the word locally I wanted my camera back. I was told by a local that it was two young fellas from a nearby town that got caught by the camera. It ended up in the creek.

I do have to say that I-40 was a heck of a camera. It was fast to trigger and took very good pics both day and night.

Well I was bidding hot a heavy on  2 of those Stealth 5.0 IR digital guys suppose to take pics from 50 feet, no flash color daytime B/W nightime,  I was also bidding on a two man tree stand for bear hunting an hog huntig and one of those red lights that mount on top of your scope and a fancy HSS6 tree safety vest.  I got so hot I quit bidding on all that stuff!!!  Feel like trading off all my other stuff for something the state of affairs will let me do,  like badmiton but only if I stay of the FRIGGEN GRASS:X

I've seen the older style Moultrie digitals sell on ebay for around 50 bucks.

Cudde Back has 2 new ones out this year. One for $199.99 and one for $229.99 which is an IR. Both are in the 2008 Bass Pro hunting catalog.
