Any tips or advice on nighttime hog hunting with a 12guage???
Any help will be GREATLY appreciated!!!
I'm going to do more stalk hunting. But I will be sitting over bait some of the time.
I was thinking I was just going to use 3" mag buckshot.
Would a slug followed by buckshot work better?

| Are you sitting over bait or trying to stalk and spot light them? Are you using slugs in the 12 ga.

| Remington 270, When I use my 12 gauge at night I use slugs backed up by more slugs, I shoot an 870 with an 18 inch barrle. the only problem with shot guns at night especially with the short barrle is muzzle flash, mine is about 2 1/2 to 3 feet long , kind of leaves you night blind for a few minutes

Good choice using the slugs! I don't recomend buck shot at all. The flash is simular to black powder in the daylight you don't know what you hit until the smoke clears. Have any of y'all tried a crossbow with a scope at night?

| I've been using a Remington 870 with Remington slugs and a Eotech 511, They are a very deadly combination. Everyone has dropped right there.

| well let me put it this way that Remington is a kicking son of a gun even with dove loads. When I was sighting it in me and a buddy took turns till it was on. However I've never once noticed it kicking while shooting at a hog and they always drop. {so far} Awesome combo.

| I am thinking of trying my muzzleloader on them. Might even pull out the old Hawken.
