glen, the price of all furs in the USA depends on how it grades. There are many different grades for each fur bearing animal.
Lets use coon as an example.
In my area of the U.S. most coons will grade Section III, which bacically means a flat, low quality fur. Prices can vary from $5.00 to a whopping $10.00.
The coons in lets say Iowa may grade Eastern Northern Central or Western Northern Central and may sell for $25.00 to $40.00.
So, as you can see there can be a BIG difference in selling prices depending on how the fur grades.
