We are going froggin 6/14/08 tommorow night; everyone do a anti-rain dance for us
It is not unusuall to bring them out by the 50lb sack full. We will be in the marsh and rice fields tommorow night wading in the canals "not for the faint of heart for sure." most of them will be caught by hand in the water wading, but I'm bringing some live gigs for the rice field levy's. Cotton mouths and alligators are everywhere, so I will bring the camera and hopefully get some good pictures if we don't get rained out. Yes, I will have my big 'ol pig sticker on my side
Alligator season starts in september........stay tuned!

We are getting everything ready to go: Ice chest is full of ice, battery is charged on the 4-wheeler, lights are charged, skeeter dope bottle is full, trailer is hooked up to the jeep, radio's are charged, new batteries in the camera. The net and gigs are on the trailer. Pray that it don't rain and we bring home the legs. Ours and the frogs!
If everything goes right we will be cleaning frogs all day tommorow!! I'm not going to sleep when I get home, gonna keep them on Ice and fire up the grill and get a brisket slow cooking before I get some sleep
Hopefully I will get some good pictures to post for y'all.
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree.Every time I've vacationed in Florida I always bought a mess of frog legs.Very good.Buy them right at the grocery store. We don't have big enough frogs up here in Maine.

Well,
I get to eat crow on this one. It turned out to be more of a midnight 4-wheeler drive than a frog hunt. We burnt out 3 spot lights on the 4-wheeler batteries, and I mean they were burnt, not dead, but fried. Then we ended up working on a friends 4-wheeler. I went with some friends and they invited friends and thier friends invited friends, etc. It was not a frog hunt, but more of a gathering. We had fun though. Lance got his first real big bull frog and some of the guys there were real characters and made it fun. We got dirty and ate a lot of bugs in the rice fields riding around and seen some deer, but it was not really froggin. Too many people and too much beer. Not to worry the season has just begun again. It only closes April and May. I never brought out the camera. Bull frogs need to be 5" and pig frogs need to be 3-1/2" that is from nose to butt.

| I use to use a grabber on a ten foot pole, but mostly rely on my hands. Just have to watch for snakes and wasps nests in overhanging limbs!
