Yet another reason why we need hunting seasons. My father has 2 books about bear attacks.I remember one story where this guy is brown bear hunting with a bow.He sees this nice bear out in some tall grass and proceeds to begin his stalk. He gets within about 40 yards of the bear by crawling along. He is laying there thinking of what to do when he comes up with the plan to draw his bow and slowly stand up and shot the bear.He gets his bow drawn and slowly stands up and looks to where the bear is..................................................Theres 5 fully grown brown bear all standing on their hind legs looking right at him.........He slowly gets back down in a crawling position and gets the heck out of there

There was another story in there where this unarmed guy is filming grizzly bear along this salmon stream.Hes waiting for a bear to come along when behold here comes this monster male bear walking up the same side of the stream that he is on.The guy holds still and the bear passes by in front of him only about 20 yards away. The bear never looks sideways or shows any sign that it had seen or smelled the guy.The guy sits there for another couple of hours and sees nothing so he gets up and turns to leave........................And comes face to face with that same bear just inches from his face. The bear had circled around behind the guy and had been watching him the whole time. The guy swallows hard and waits to become the bears meal. The bear simply smells the poor guys face all over then turns and leaves. The guy claims the bears breath was very bad....or maybe (I think)the odor was coming up from between the guys legs.
