I have just about got my bear patterned and it seems that everytime I use either the bearly-legal or the russian mix the bear won't come in for a few days. I am using very little at a time. Maybe a teaspoon per 5 gallons of bait. What am I doing wrong. Or is it that the bear I am feeding just doesn't like it.

It sounds like it might be a very cautious bear. Some will change there patterns at any change at the bait site. Try something for me. Wear a T-shirt for a day, put it baggie. When you bait the next time tie that shirt around a tree very close to the bait and see if the bear comes in.

Here is what happened now. I moved the bait about 15 feet to get it out of the wet mess because we had a lot of rain last weekend. The night I moved it the bear come in. Now it hasen't been back for 3 days.Now there is no pattern to it. Season started today. I will hunt it tonight.But I did find another spot where a bear is going into a cornfield. I put a little bait there to see if it is still going there and I will give it a couple days and see what happens.

Well I gave up on the spot I was at. A friend got his bear on opening day and now I am going to hunt at his spot because there are a lot more bears in that area.
