Lets see you bear hunting trail cams for ythis year. I don't have any yet but I will soon.

Here is one from last year. How big do you think it is. I am guessing over 350 pounds.

I'm heading to the mountains Tuesday and will be camping for 4 days. When I get back I should have some trail camera pics.I would guess that bear to be around 350 or more. I use 55 gal drums for baiting. It's a real good way to measure the bear when they stand near it..

Here in Michigan it is illegal to use any type of container for baiting bear. What is a good height to mark on a tree for say a bear that is 150 pounds or bigger.I do know that anything over 36 inches is a big bear but I am not expecting to see one that big but you never know.

The average bear is 2 1/2 to 3 feet at the shoulder. I'd put 3 marks 2ft , 2 1/2ft and 3ft and that should give you a very good idea of the size. A few years ago one of my cameras got a picture of a bear standing on all fours looking over the top of a 55 gal drum. What's an average weight of bear in your area?

The average size in my area is between 125 and 175 pounds. With some large ones like in the photo.

Finally got a bait hit. Here is what came in. I got 100 pictures of these bears in 2 days. Sorry for the foggy pictures the first one that came in must have licked the camera. What size do you think these are? Do you think the second picture is the same bear as the first?

You no what sucks. Is that I haven't had any bears come in since these pictures were taken, this past Sun. I checked the bait today and all that had been there was racoons. What is worse is that my season starts next Fri. and I have no where else to hunt. Because none of my other baits have been hit. I don't no what the problem is, I have never had a problem getting a bear to come in for me. What is also strange is that there is no apples or any other mast for them to eat this year.Glad I didn't purchase my permit yet.:frown
