Not too mention if you fill your tags..we can call yotes..or hunt squirrels, partridge or rabbits. Love to host a gathering on this end of the things for you. Let you see what maine is really like.
Don't forget doe tags are by lottery also.

Sure am looking forward to it Dan.Windy evening this evening with swirling winds.Only one hunter saw a bear.He said it was a nice bear standing right broadside over the bait.Got a good steady shot but I can't find any blood or hair.I'll have to look again in the morning.

This morning at 7:00 am got back to the bait where the guy shot. Not a sign of blood or hair.Looked for over a hour nothing.Took one final swing behind the bait even through the guy saw the bear go down hill.About 40 yards out found a small over turned rock.Said to myself well.....maybe.Only thing I have going so far.About another 20 yards found where some leaves were scratched up out of place.Another 10 yards another small place where the leaves were out of place.Looked to the right and saw a black object.Yes I said running over.........A big stump:X.......Went back to last place and went down through a little gully looking ahead saw something black up against some roots.Could it be ..............YEP a nice 210 pound boar bear.

This is Mrs. WYO.  I had a very successful hunt this fall even though I did not harvest a bear.  On my first morning a Pine Martin visited the site and investigated a clump of marshmallows.  After licking them he decided it was not his forte'.  That evening, around 7:15, a small bear, approximately 125 pounds came in.  He ate all the marshmallows except the clump the Pine Martin licked.  He wondered around the site eating and even took a small nap on a log.  In all I watched him for about 35 minutes.

On my second day the morning was uneventful except for all the noisy elk hunters and WW III erupting on the crazy chickens (grouse).  That evening around 6:00 the small bear came back in, but this time he was very nervous.  He came in on my left and constantly whiffed in the direction to my right, which within a few moments I heard woofing and limbs snapping.  At the same time two novice elk hunters were trying to use a cow call, but instead it sounded like a dying cat.  The small bear ate a few marshmallows before he bolted out of the site.  I kept my attention to my right and watched the bushes move periodically as this bear moved parallel to me, woofing and snapping limbs.  About the time the bear stuck his head out from the brush he turned his head and looked behind him towards the two novice elk hunters crossing the brush.  I was hoping he would run down the trail which lead to the site, but instead he bolted like a freight train behind me.  The elk hunters bolted as well thinking they were chasing an elk.  That was the end of that.

On my third day out it was an uneventful morning and at noon we found out the season had closed.  So now I will have to wait until spring.
