First 2 weeks is bait hunting only.Next 2 weeks is both bait hunting and hound hunting. Then last month is hound hunting only. You can also shoot a bear during deer season with no bait.

Our season goes by a sow mortality rate. This fall it lasted 3 1/2 days. Spring normally last longer about 45 days. Mainly because so much of the mountains are still snowed in. We can't use hounds here.

The only thing about having a sow mortality rate and with everyone knowing that the fall season doesn't last to long a lot of people are shooting the first thing that comes in.
