I have been thinking about shelling out the cash for the new Prettyboy and Pretty girl decoys by carrylite but wanted to know if any of you guys had them already and what you thought about them?

Im wondering if they are worth the extra money, Cabelas sells them for $130.00 i think and the cheapest i have found them is on Ebay  New in the box for $81.00 free shipping..

any one have any opinions on them?

I have a blow up yard sale special - cost $5 - we put it out a couple weeks ago to see if it would work, started calling next thing you know it was raining like crazy closed up the blind and when it started to slack off a little looked out the blind - we had three toms strutin around it. I hope it works like that when we start hunting:)

I stopped using decoys a few years ago when I notice the birds were shying away from them. In the past five years these birds around here have seen soo many decoys they will almost break in a run to get away from them. Since I stopped using decoys my shots have been much closer than when I was using them. I also like the show the toms put on when they don't see a decoy. Even before they got decoy shy they would shut up as soon as they saw the decoy.

Out in west Tx is a totally different story. Those birds will do back flips when they see a jake and hen decoy. If I wasn't hunting out there every year I'd get rid of my decoys.

I guess what I'm saying is I'd never dish out $130.00 for a couple turkey decoys.

I hear ya about the pressure on the birds, when i lived in PA i would have guys get out of there truck in broad daylight 9 am hitting a owl hooter :rotfl

the birds would go silent ..

there isnt much if any pressure on the birds up here  but flocks are few and far between, there is a few flocks around though and I plan on making the flock one bird smaller :batguy2

   Dan,

Bass pro shop has some nice decoy set-ups with two & three birds for under 20.00 bucks and i would think they would be as effective as the pretty boy. From what i saw on the box they can be set up in a breeding pose or a feeding flock and so forth. Now they dont look as good as the pretty boy, but for 40.00 bucks you could have six decoys that would give your birds a more realistic flock view. I've considered getting some myself and believe they would work fine. They have them set up in the store and have videos running showing gobbelers flogging the jake decoy. I cant swear that the gobbeler wasnt a caged bird, but he sure didnt like the jake messing with his women..........
