Yep nutoy im after the oceolas - already saw the biggest rattler Ive ever seen in my life during deer season Snakes are always out where I live.
Im so excited I dont think Ill be able to sleep tonight. I downloaded turkey calls on my I-pod and been practicing every day for about a week. Needless to say my wife is getting sick of me making so much noise, the kids think its funny though.
Im shooting 1 1/2 '' groups with my bow at 30 yards so I think Im ready - already shatered 3 arrows . Watch I get the damn shakes when I see one.

Rick, I'd call that a good hunt. If I get to hear a gobble I consider it a good hunt.
A couple years ago I had a couple late season toms do the same thing as what happened to you. They'd gobble, strut, spit and drum. After more than an hour of trying to coax them closer I just quit calling. When they acted like they were going to leave I'd let out a couple soft yelps and they'd blow up again. I finally let them walk off and about 20 minutes later one of them gobbled about 100 yards behind me. As soon as he gobbled I cut loose with some real aggressive yelps and cutts. That tom came in so fast he almost ran over my feet. Shot him from 3 yds. That was my best bird I have taken so far. The biologist aged him at 5 years old. From the first time he answered my calling to the shot was almost 3 hours
Sometimes it takes alot of patience. You'll get you one, hang in there.
