Went down to my parents house last night to go turkey hunting at my parents farm with my mother as my father had all ready got his turkey first day of season A.At 4:30 AM Mother and father(Person calling) set up just past the pond on the farm while I went up the edge of the same field and set up in the back corner 400 yards away.I found a nice thick evergreen and layed under it proping 3 logs laying on top of each other in front of me.What a set up.At daylight father and I were calling away.Him calling with his hand calls while I used my new fox pro scorpion caller.I called off and on for about an hour when I heard the first gooble then more turkey calls. They kept getting closer and closer when just after 6:30 AM 2 jakes broke into view with 5 more jakes a few yards behind them running at my 2 decoys set out 20 yards from me.Actually the jake decoy was set 18 yards facing away from me with the hen decoy 2 yards in front of him also facing away from me.I have found over the years hunting down in Virginia with this set up, the tom turkeys will come in to the decoys then circle behind the jake decoy giving me a close shot. The first 2 jakes went right to the decoys heads up ready to fight.I hit the fighting purrs followed by turkey hen purrs and soon had all the jakes circling behind the jake decoy. When the biggest one stuck his head straight up in the air to see better I centered on his neck and touched off the load of #5 hevi-shot.He never knew what hit him.He ended up having a 5 inch beard:banana

Then I just sat there as my father was still calling on his box calls.About 8 minutes later I heard my mothers gun boom.WOW a double. She later told me how a diffrent group of 4 jakes had come into her blind from a totaly diffrent direction and she shoot hers at about 25 yards as they were fighting. The other 3 then started kicking the heck out of her dead turkey untill she stood up.:banana:banana

I can't put into words the feelings going through me to get to enjoy this turkey hunt with my mother, father calling for her and myself........And to have us both get a turkey....To me it just don't get any better then this.:banana:banana:banana:banana
