Just bought my second preference point for mule deer in Wyoming.Also bought a point for elk.Start trying next year to get drawn.

Now have 1 point for elk and 2 points for mule deer.

| You have to BUY preference points? They use to give you one everytime you applied for a licence and did not get drawn.

Yep, just another way the state can make more money. The weirdest thing is that, nonresidents can accumulate preference points towards areas and different animals that residents can't get preference points in.
Wyoming is going to be opening a wolf season. In there infinite wisdom instead of having a limited quota. They are going to sell all the licenses they can and are setting a mortality rate. They probably had there bean counters figure that they will make alot more money that way.

go to gf.state.wy.us then go to the hunting page and look for apply on line - preference points
