The last few years I love to hike back up to the lower basin in Baxter park to go trout fishing.

Those Brookies are pretty fish. I've had the pleasure of catching them in Colorado, Georgia and in Iceland. I havent ever caught any Brookies of any real size.   I really enjoyed fishing for them.

Theres a river that runs along the border of Wyoming and Colorado and i cant remember its name but i really cleaned up on rainbows and cutthroats there. I remeber hearing some splashing up-stream and seeing a herd of mole deer crossing about 150 yards from me. If you follow the main road out of Walden you come to a hard left turn and take it, go about five miles and turn right and you come to a parking area. Then you walk downhill about seventy yards and your in the water. I say all this cause Wyo might know where i'm talking about.

Have you ever tried fly-fishing Bruce?  Man, i love it....

That is a nice catch. I bet they eat as good as they look. I kind of like a corn meal based dredge with a salt, pepper and a dash of cajun spice thrown in. Fry them up in hot oil, make some hush puppies and fried taters and wash it all down with some cold beer. Makes for a very satisfying day indeed.

The next time i go fishing i'll post some pics. Since we built our new house and moved in four years ago i cant seem to find my pics, but i'll have to look. Got some good ones from north carolina trips and other places i've been.

The best guess I could make would be the North Platte River or one of it's many tributaries.

Keeps looking better and better. I have to get up there one day! Spring or summer maybe, but not winter; it's just to cold for me.
