To whom this may concern, I have always liked the snagproof Original frogs for bass and pickeral fishing . I like the frogs so much that I recently took my eldest daughter age 11 to our local walmart to purchase a few for her own tackle box..

After we arived to the lake i put a steal leader on my daughters line so the pickeral wouldnt cut the line all was good we hooked the snagproof frog onto the swivel and she was fishing like a pro...

Till she made her 3rd cast when the frog was left floating around the lake.... when she reeled in her line I checked everything over and her line  was not damaged, the steel leader and swivel were still intact and the swivel was still closed. I thought maybe she didnt close the swivel properly and didnt want to get yelled at by dad so i thought she may have closed the swivel...

As we scratched our heads for a minute and discussed this issue we opend up the 2nd frog and made sure the swivel was closed securely NO DOUBT in my mind.

she started fishing again when a good sized Large mouth springs up from the weed grass and grabs the frog. He pulled that frog under and she was tickled pink. Till her line went loose and the fight wasnt there no more...

She reeled it in thinking he snapped her line but when she reeled it in again her line , leader and swivel were all attatched and the swivel was still closed.....

So i opend my takle box to look over my snagproof frogs and seen a major defect with it , the eye loop on the hook shank was not closed all the way, my older ones were fine but these new ones were open allowing it to slip off the swivel...

Anyway to make a long story short she lost a nice fish which will probably end up dying with this snagproof frog in its mouth and another snagproof frog floating around the lake untill something eats it...

I just wanted to let you know that unless these eyes are closed you will have some unhappy customers young and old...I also feel like she was cheated from a great fish and a great day on the lake with dad, not to mention 2 new lures that vanished in a matter of seconds...

If you could somehow make it up to her It would be greatly appreciated by her and myself...

Thank you for your time,

Snagproofs reply

Hi Dan,
First, let me thank you for your email. We can't fix problems like these unless we are aware of them. I appreciate your taking the time to let me know about this. Our stock will be checked for this defect. Were these frogs the cast size #6200 series, or the smaller spin size #6000 series? That will help in finding and fixing the problem.
Please accept our apologies for these defective frogs, it's bad enough when it happens to an adult, worse when it's with and 11 year old that's happy to be fishing! I would love to make it up to her--maybe a couple more frogs (checked for quality!), a new Snag Proof hat, and Frogs Rule t-shirt? I am out of the office, (on vacation) but I'll see that a care package goes out to you. (You may get another response to your email from the home office)
Thank you and good fishing!

Wow, they sound gratefull and willing to fix the problem. I find comfort in their responce to you, and that is there is still some customer service left in this world. Too many times folks pass the buck and they seem to realise that 1 unhappy customer can create many who will not buy problem products. Good for you guy's Dan....   Keep us posted

Connies reply to me

Hi Dan,

We want to be sure our customers stay happy--and catching fish! and will always stand behind our products. As I mentioned, I'm on vacation right now, so if I can't get your daughter's package out next week, it'll ship soon as I get back.
Thanks for your patience,

Good fishing,

Connie

Thats great that the company made it up to you both. That hook should just rust away and fall out and the bass would be fine.
