We hunt with NALC Catahoulas.  Here are some pictures of our last hunt (Saturday).  We caught a sow and then about 30 minutes later we bayed a big ol boar.  I had only took my older dog to the woods with 2 pups.  Re-Pete is just a year old and Gibbs is 5 months.  It was his first time in the woods.  I think both pups are goingto make awesome dogs.

Oh!  I forgot to mention that my rat terrier dog named Shoat tagged along and helped out.  I think he has just as big a heart as the Catahoulas does!

This was a big ol boar.  Had huge teeth.  I called the dogs off.  i had left my catch dog at home and didnt want to get the bay dogs killed.  They sure were putting some smack down on him when I pulled them off.  All 3 dogs got the horn though.

And the is my old gyp "Lou".  She is about old enough to retire.  She is coming on 7 years old.  I had my Garmin Astro 220 on her and it tracked her out over a mile when she bayed that boar.  I was amazed.  i have just recently gotten that unit and LOVE IT!  It's awesome.

That's what's bad about hunting hogs with dogs. Your buddies get cut up. Even a good catch dog will go flying from time to time.

We have had our share of cut dogs but the dogs love to hunt hogs.  It's a passion for them.  You can see it in their eyes.  I have only had 1 dog killed and it was a pit and she was vested.

If I had one dog killed, I would probably quit for good. I'm too saft hearted towards my dogs.

When we loose one of our dogs it's like loosing a close friend or family member.   One thing that gives me a little bit of comfort is knowing that the dogs are doing what they love.  I think if one of my hunting dogs dies by any other reason other than hunting it will be harder to deal with.

Thanks for sharing the pictures and the Garmin info. Hunting em with dogs is not for the soft hearted at all, but it is fun and the dogs do love it. It's not often that you find someone that is willing to share these photos, so thanks.
