Talon my 8 year old and I hunted this morning for opening day of youth deer season. We had only been sitting about 10 minutes when the does entered the field. We could also tell there were at least 3 bucks. Talon had to turn all the way to his right to get a shot. The deer were down wind of us and I was sure they would spook any minute. Just as a doe crossed our scent trail the bigger of the bucks, who had just finished a scrape started to chase her. He was running hard and I had to use my Haydel's hog grunt tube to stop him because I lost my favorite deer grunt. The second time I grunted he stopped and Talon made a nice 80 yard neck shot with his NEF .223. While we waited to make sure he wasn't getting up another nice buck showed up{a little better than Talon's SHHHH}. Talon had to just watch and wish he had two buck tags for this county instead of one. I made him pass on some does this evening in hopes that his sister Krista would get a shot at a nice buck. Micaela his other sister hunted with mom this evening and saw several bucks and a few does, but she's holding out for the big boy.

| Another example that the .223 will kill. Congratulation to Talon. I am hoping to see some more kid pictures show up here, in the next couple of days.
