The only red gravy i know of is what we call red-eye gravy and that is made with the drippings from usaully country ham or bacon, a little water and a splash of coffee (black) and simmered a few minutes, then spoon over some biscuts. Awsome stuff, not good for the arteries and veins, though....

Sawmilll gravy is made with crumbled up sausage, browned up in a skillet. Remove the meat when nice and brown, add a couple of table spoons flour and stir constantley. When the flour is browned, add either milk or water and conyinue to stir till nice and thick then add back the meat and serve over biscuts or rice, makes a great meal. However i must add that it is not good for the arteries or veins.

Lazy man's omlette

When I wake up at the camp I don't want to cook, but I get really hungry in the stand.

(At home Before leaving for the camp) Take a small zip lock bag, put cheese, couple of whipped eggs, and pre-cooked crumbled wild hog sausage in it. Get a pot of boiling water going. Place the zip lock bag in and enjoy your omelette in about 15 min. You can lay in the bed and be cooking at the same time.

i got one, catch a possum, skin'n'clean it, and peel the meat from the bones.  after that, grab some tin or aluminum foil, place the meat in the foil with diced carrots, taters, pepper and garlic.  ball up the food in the foil and toss it in the coals of a fire.  let them sit in the coals and check them periodically.  whether they're done is upto you.  i usually do around 15 min.  you can either eat it outta the foil bag or in a pot.  it might sound gross cuz it's a possum, but with the garlic and pepper, it tastes great.  enjoy
